Celebration Plate

Here in Belgium these plates are given for many occasions, weddings, retirements, etc. I thought it was fun to write a tutorial for it :)

This tutorial is written in PSP 9 but can be done in 8 and 7 too.

You will need a tube of your choice.

Open a new image 500 x 500.

1. Draw a vector circle foreground set to #000000 with these settings.

Promote your vector to a rasterlayer, name it plateoutside. Move your circle to the middle of your image. Go to selections -> select all -> float

2. Apply a sculpture effect. Go to effects -> Texture effects -> sculpture and apply these settings twice.

3. Go to Effects -> artistic effects -> chrome and apply these settings

Next we are going to apply an innerbevel with these settings

Deselect.

Apply a new rasterlayer name it plate inside. Move it under your plateoutside layer. Activate your magic wand and select the inside of your circle.
Go to selections : modify -> expand : 2 and floodfill with #c0c0c0
Deselect, go to Effects -> texture effects - Emboss.

Open your tube go to Image -> greyscale.

Copy your tube and paste it on your plate as a new layer. Resize if nescessary. Go to Effects -> texture effects -> emboss.

Draw a new vector circle adjust with to 1 instead of 65. Foreground color none - background color #000000. Apply a new layer and draw your text on the vector circle. (Text on a path) When you are done with your text you can delete your vector circle.
Select your text and apply 2 and 3 to your text then to finish apply emboss.

Now your plate is ready and you can merge all your layers, don't forget to tube it :)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
