2. Adding noise :

Open a new image 100 x 100 pixels - transparant background - 16 mil. colors. Flood fill it with a color of your choice. Click on "shift-D" 2 times. You will have 3 images now.
Activate your first image then Go to Effects - Noise - Add. Apply these settings : Noise = 25% - Random

Save your image, name it psp1 for instance and place it on your desktop or a temp. folder you made for animations. We'll be exporting these images to Animationshop soon and then you can delete those temp. files.
Activate next image repeat the previous step but add noise 20 %. Save as psp2.
Activate the last image and repeat again add noise 15 %. Save as psp3.

Now open your Animation shop click on "animation wizard" follow the instructions i wrote down here and you will get this

This is one way to add noise to a graphic, several other methods you can use, with or without plugins.

You can use the noise tool in Animation shop itself.

Open an new animation in AS size 250 x 150 you can crop it later. With your text tool you insert text of your choise. I used "Noise" here.

Click on Effects - Insert image effect, scroll down or up till you find "noise". You can play with the settings in customize till it fits what you want.

Click OK and voilà noise is added :)
